The Forgotten City

The Forgotten City is a site-specific video installation that was projected onto the side of the Greenpoint Terminal Market, a Brooklyn industrial complex dating back to 1890. The video, a 10-minute loop created from a series of photographs taken by Nathan Kensinger between 2007 and 2011, took viewers through the hidden rooms and passages of the Greenpoint Terminal Market’s warehouses, exploring its dark history of riots, explosions, fires, and squatters.

This artwork was exhibit as part of Bring To Light, a free, nighttime public art festival held in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
